Biography:
Joe Potts, who was elected President of Jefferson Federation of Teachers in 1988, was instrumental in the creation of the JFT Health and Welfare Fund in 1983. He continues to be actively involved in the Fund’s administration. Joe is the Chairman of the JFT Health and Welfare Board and serves on the Board’s Executive Committee. |

Biography:
Sharon Wegner was an employee of the Jefferson Parish Public School System for 31 years and retired in August 2003 as the Director of Adult Education. She is the Career Development Director for the New Orleans Job Corps. Sharon was appointed to the JFT Health and Welfare Fund as a Management Trustee in 1983 and is the Secretary for the Health and Welfare Board. She also serves on the Board’s Executive Committee.

Biography:
Meladie Munch began teaching in the Jefferson Parish Public School System in October, 1976 prior to becoming a JFT staff member in 1983. In 1984, Meladie became the Secretary-Treasurer for the Jefferson Federation of Teachers and has continued in that position until being recently elected as President of JFT. Meladie was appointed to the JFT Health and Welfare Board as a Union Trustee in December, 2008. |

Biography:
Larry Segura began working in public education for the Jefferson Parish Public School System as a teacher and counselor 29 years ago. He is currently serving as a counselor at Bonnabel High School. He was elected to the JFT Executive Board in 1990 and became the JFT High School Executive Vice-President in 1992. Larry was appointed to the JFT Health and Welfare Board as a Union Trustee in June 1990. |

Leo Schaefer has been an employee of the Jefferson Parish Public School System for 35 years and is currently the Coordinator of Employee Benefits. Leo has served on the Credit Committee of the Jefferson Parish School Board Employees’ Credit Union for 21 years. He was appointed to the JFT Health and Welfare Board as a Management Trustee in November 1986. |
