History

In May 1983 the Jefferson Federation of Teachers (JFT) negotiated with the Jefferson Parish School Board to create the JFT Health and Welfare Fund to provide supplemental  benefits for  active Bargaining Unit Employees.

Our Mission Statement is to provide our participants with the highest quality benefits in an easily understood and accessible manner in order to respond to their employment and diverse needs.

A  Board of Trustees is responsible for establishing policy, level of benefits and administration of the Fund.

There are five Union Trustees and five Management Trustees.
